South Korea`s military reported that North Korea launched multiple short-range ballistic missiles on Monday towards the sea off its eastern coast.
In a demonstration of its "nuclear trigger" management system, North Korea engaged its artillery forces in the nation`s maiden counterattack drills on Monday. The exercises aimed to showcase diverse nuclear capabilities and denounce what North Korea deemed as "provocative and invasive" military maneuvers by the United States and South Korea, KCNA disclosed.
Under Kim`s supervision, the simulation drills involved the strategic positioning of troops in a nuclear counterattack stance and the firing of artillery with simulated nuclear warheads, ready to respond in the event of nuclear crisis alerts, as reported by KCNA.
Kim lauded the preparedness of North Korea`s tactical nuclear attack arsenal, labeling it as "the world`s best," and expressed contentment with the drill outcomes, according to state media.
Additionally, Reuters reported North Korea`s plans to launch another reconnaissance satellite, following the successful placement of a surveillance satellite into orbit in November.
Last week, North Korea declared the testing of a strategic cruise missile equipped with a large warhead and a novel anti-aircraft missile.
